First TD experience

I'm sure I read that someone else on this forum heard them first as I did...late Autumn 1976....Alan 'Fluff' Freeman's legendary 4hr weekly 'Saturday Show' on BBC Radio 1. He played "3 a.m. at the Border of the Marsh...." from STRATOSFEAR. I was 10. I was utterly hooked. Begged my dad to g...

Peter Baumann + Leda - Welcome to Joyland - Download

Pardon me if I've missed the boat on this already and it's old news, but I was just trawling thru a post in the 'History' section about Peter Baumann and Projekt Electronic synths...then followed a link or two and came across this extraordinary free download of a PB produced, and apparently composed...

In praise of Thorsten Quaeschning

This is an unashamed salute to TQ. You could hear it straight away on JEANNE D'ARC. There was a depth, complexity and texture that set that album apart. There was new life and a 3-way dynamic once again...and then Jerome left.....and what could have been sadly never was. But Thorsten Quaeschning had...

Zeitgesit / RAH gig

I must confess to have judged this concert very harshly. I've heard since that they had their full laser show with them but couldn't use it, that the RAH wanted shedloads of money to film it, and that dull, horrible and mostly broken video projection made me so crazy, given TD's prior reputation (to...

PPM - NATATORIUM - Buy it! Buy it! Buy it!

I can not recommend this album highly enough. The opening and closing tracks are two of the best pieces of electronic music you will ever hear. Like Johannes, Thorsten has that rare ability to make supremely beautiful music without it ever becoming saccharin, and his sound design is just outstanding...

WISH LIST 2009 - AN OPEN LETTER TO TD

Dear TD, Like some other folks on this forum, I first heard STRATOSFEAR on Alan Freeman's 'Saturday Show' on BBC Radio One back in 1976, and have tagged along on your journey ever since. It's been a simply wonderful 32 years of albums and shows, and long may you continue. In a perfect world 2009 wou...
