Artists stating TD as an influence

Post by Tropylium »

The recent TD appearence on Underworld's influences mix got me thinking. I also recall Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree, Bass Communion etc.) vouching for Zeit recently, and Björk vouching for Romance '76 in an old interview (no idea if she still does)…

How many other artists — beyond the obvious cases like Redshift — there are who cite TD as an important influece? Is anyone keeping a list of this stuff?

Future Sound of London / Amorphous Androgynous are big fans too, and use a lot of TD / EF samples in their tracks.

Andy told me that the singer of Kasabian was and if you listen to some of the music you can hear the influence. Global Communication on 76:14 LOART is obvious but on all the stuff I have read they dont seem to state them as an influence.

Andy Tillison of The Tangent. He's done an album in homage to the mighty TD and has even posted here once....

...or was it on tadream?

Didn't David Bowie say something about EIMP being one of his favourite albums... :?:

Ulrich Schnauss of course has cited TD many times as an influence on his music.

So he has. He might even count as "obvious", given the JF/JS collaborations…
