I can relate to that. It is an album which is suitable for many people. Some albums are less suitable for many people. It is a good album to
start with. My own first album was optical race, after that melrose.

But on topic, Underwater sunlight is still great if you want my opinion.

Love Underwater Sunlight...def.one of TD's best albums in my opinion. Not just of the 80's but of all time.

What i find interesting is the tracks that obviously didnt quite make it on to the album.

The obvious one is Dolphin Smile but ive got a strong feeling that Vanishing Blue from the Dream Roots box set (disc 5) is from the same sessions. Imagine that Underwater Sunlight was the whole of the album as it is with dolphin smile and Vanishing Blue as well. . . Like a collectors edition. Even the titles fit in well.

Yes I agree it is a very good album, I probably don`t give it the airplay it deserves nowdays but if I were to do a TD chart it would certainly make my top 20 albums possibly even squeeze into the top 10 ;-)

Perhaps tyhat's the optimum # of vinyls - you'd need an analogue computer though - feed the three signals in and where one is different loose it from the mix - presto no crackles and clicks. Maybe 4 is better - I think the space shuttle uses 4 80386 chips in its main computer so if one dies there can still be a vote between the other three.

I digress.
imho

Not sad OR mad - it's just some kind of weird disorder for which there are no known cure against at the moment

Me too, I should like to hear a DTS recording of this one. Must be a thrill.

One of the finest albums in the TD catalogue, never out of my top 10 and came at a time that my interst in TD was wavering - wasn't a big fan of Hyperbore, White Eagle, Poland or Le Parc at the time (I've grown up a lot since then) Underwater Sunlight restored much faith.
You can take a horse to water but you can't make it drink...but if you get it to float's on it's back then you've got something...
