Re: The Sessions V

For those not receiving the TD newsletter: there has been a problem with the initial issue apparently, CD1 will be reprinted and also replaced free of charge for everyone whose order has already shipped.

This probably explains why the album was not available at the Helsinki concert last night…

Re: Tangerine Dream at the Circus, Helsinki, 2019-10-30

- POST 2 OF 2: THE CONCERT - About twenty minutes after Hiro Kone had concluded, the text "Tangerine Dream" and their logo appeared on the screen at the back of the stage. The crowd started promptly emptying out from the bar, the smoking rooms, etc. I claimed a place center-stage with some...

Tangerine Dream at the Circus, Helsinki, 2019-10-30

Reporting in from Tangerine Dream's first-ever solo concert and second-ever appearence of any kind in Finland! I missed their appearence at the Flow Festival last year, but this was a great first impression. - POST 1 OF 2: BACKGROUND - The Circus, despite the name, is a nightclub smack downtown with...

Re: In Search of Hades: The Virgin Recordings 1973-1979

No reactions to any of the music yet? This will take a while to digest in full, but there is a lot of interest even on a quick go-over, e.g. the Rubycon pre-release versions. I was definitely not expecting the flute outro for part II to originally be from Oedipus Tyrannus. Some interesting new recor...

Re: "Childish Gambino" ripping off Choronzon?

As far as sampling goes, this is pretty tame compared to some stuff that came out in the 90s to 00s. I've for long respected people who manage to look at unusual sources for samples. Picking one track apart for something is no feat, picking ten tracks from one artist and mashing them up is only marg...

IMMENSELY Excited  Box set ordered! :D VIGIL  Ahh, some things change, some things stay the same… but yes seems like we're finally getting The Real Deal. (hi all, it's been a while; I may be off on my way soon again really but thanks y'all for keeping up the fort in the meanwhile)

Re: Jerome Froese - Orange Sized Dreams (Works 1990-1995)

Very interesting compilation. Some fairly close edits, others have much more drive now. I think I approve of generally getting rid of the excess vocal sampling that was all the rage back at the time… can be sampled here BTW  https://jeromefroese.bandcamp.com/album/orange-sized-dreams-works-19...

I am very temporarily unlurking to report that I narrowly beat him on my 2nd try, then accidentally hit backspace and had to go for another do-over, with the results you can see now 8)

Re: Vangelis

A few years ago I earmarked the Delectus box set as something worth looking into (so far I own almost no Vangelis albums from that era). Remembering it today again for some reason (cough) it seems to have sold out by now but the components are still around for 10 € apiece… maybe a pretty good deal a...

Re: Kebu

I got his first album, but he ended up going more towards the synthwave direction than the Jarre direction since then. No shame in that either though.

I don't think there's any factory-pressed bootleg from the 1982 tour, nor any official release beyond Logos (tho a few parts were remixed for the rare 1997 release on The Keep). The Tangerine Tree fan release project has a couple good recordings from there though, eg. volume 61 . As for the others: ...
