Discussions over the 'reformation' of Tangerine Dream's line up of Edgar, Christophe and Johannes, is in my opinion as useful as discussions on the whereabouts of Peter Baumann or the location of Lord Lucan/Shergar/BigMoogs brain :P opinion presented as opinion  Quite a while back someone on ...

TD opened their 1986 shows in the U. S. with Pilots of the Purple Twilight. It was so smooth and mello. The song, which I had just kind of liked previously, became one of my favorite pieces.

Your Least Favorite TD Live Experience

Ok, we have a favorite concert topic, how about your worst experience at a TD concert? Here's mine: Back in 1992, Tangerine Dream had their last major tour of the U. S. The 1986 tour had convinced me that it was a serious mistake to fail to see as many shows as possible when they came to the U. S. T...

Serendipity on a Real Train

There was this story in the local television news a few days ago, about the star of a new movie who was supposed to make a personal appearance at a store in the local shopping mall. The movie was “Twilight” and apparently it is based on a series of vampire books favored by teenaged girls. So there w...

My own preference would be a DVD release of their performance in 1981 with an orchestra. There's a clip of that on YouTube somewhere. It's interesting from a TD fans perspective, you can see how the music is put together by the band, but the overall effect is one of an orchestra struggling to keep ...

I received my copy of Early Beginnings today. (I'm located in San Bruno, a small town just South of San Francisco, California, so getting it so quickly was a nice surprise). What a cool release. Thanks go to Conrad Gibbons for his liner note translations! I think that anyone who is a fan of TD from ...

Good news for Schmoelling fans

The original 1988 version of Zoo of Tranquility can now be purchased on the Johannes Schmoelling web site. This is Johannes at his whimsical best. I like the re-do 1998 version too, but the original is a real favorite of mine and it's good to see that it once again available.

Exit came out shortly after I saw TD live in their Froese, Franke, Schmoelling incarnation and became a total fan. I liked the album, but was a little disappointed that the tracks were of the shorter variety. Also, some of them just kind of fade out which is also a pet peeve of mine. At the time, my...

Here's an item I posted on tadream a while ago regarding my thoughts on the Celestine Prophecy. Thought it would fit in with this discussion. While looking through the movie review section the other day I noticed that a movie of the Celestine Prophecy had been made. I haven't read the book and the m...
