43 years. Hard to fathom. That's amazing. Some much incredible music. So many styles; so many innovations. Personally, I can do without the period from 1988 through 1995, but that's only 16% of the total output that doesn't appeal to me. There are no other artists I can say that about. In TD's case,...

Heh, I rarely let that track play beyond the 11:40 mark.

I find this one to be enjoyable for the most part. It has a few weak moments, but there are enough bold sounds and aggressive elements to keep it interesting.

I've noticed that there has been some new artwork produced recently, but every source I've been able to find through searching is either outdated, or has only thumbnails of the new art (like VITN). Several of my disks are still housed in "temporary cover art" and I'd like to update them wi...

I missed this quote the last time around: For the average MO fan I'd recomend Stratosfear or Force Majeure. But I wouldn't recomend anything after 1987 for anyone. Absolutely awful music in my (not so humble opinion). So please don't pick up something like Goblin's Club or Madcap's Flaming Duty. You...

I have a few items that I would never part with, such as the vinyl box set '70-'80 and the 12" edition of TATORT , but I'd have to say what tops the list is my copy of the East-German edition of Quichotte on the Amiga label sent to be by a TD fan from the Ukraine back in the early 90s. (I suppo...

Re: “White Clothes” question.

Recently I found the Vol.17 Tree, with the actual recording of the 31 January 1980 East Berlin concert. As everyone knows, the officially album version of it, as “Quichotte” or “Pergamon”, is somehow different to this recording. On “Quichotte part 2”, as it was released on album, from the point of ...

I've always considered this to be a definitive TD album. It's what they were all about. That stage photo on the cover is iconic. I used to show it to people saying, "what do you picture when you think of a typical "rock band" on stage? Couple guitars, drums, a singer, maybe a keyboard...

This was when I finally realized that TD is always better live than in studio. "Horizon" is mind-shatteringly incredible.

Re: Looking back at Cyclone

A controversial release for many because of the lyrics but this album holds plenty of merit for me especially the IMHO superb "Madrigal Meridian". Not to everyone's taste but not half as bad as was made out  I have to agree completely. "Madrigal Meridian" is a great track...

My first TD album (which undoubtedly biases my opinion just a bit) and will always be one of favorites. And lucky for me, too--if I had first heard Electronic Meditation (or anything from the 90s if my first encounter had been much later), I wouldn't have given this band a second glance.

That is cool. It love it (for obvious reasons).
