Re: Klaus Schulze

Can anyone on the Forum let me know if "Klaus Schulze - Electronic Music Legend" by Greg Allen is worth buying?

Re: Baumann has left TD

Sad news. When I first heard that Baumann was returning, I nearly wept. I knew at that point the legacy would live on. I am in no way taking away anything from the talents and capabilities of the remaining members. It's just that having an element from TDs strongest creative period (in my opinion) ...

Re: Jean-Michel Jarre and Tangerine Dream

There is an excellent article in the November issue of Sound on Sound about JMJ, and the recording process of the new album. There's much more about his meeting with Edgar and the band than is in the sleeve notes of the CD and the whole article is worth a look.
Really enjoying the album too.

Re: Baumann has left TD

No comments about this? A pity it didn't last. Yes Jon. I'm sad that this collaboration never materialised. I'll still be intrigued to see what Peter does on a solo basis after so long out of the music scene. However, the chance to hear what Peter might have recorded with the band members has gone ...

Re: What do you think / wish: is this the end of TD?

While Tangerine Dream was not the first band to embrace electronica, it rapidly became one of the most important and high-profile ones to "fly the flag" for the genre. As early as 1973 it was receiving airplay on BBC national radio and the vocal-less albums entered the UK rock charts. For...

Re: Jean-Michel Jarre and Tangerine Dream

I'm mightily impressed by the sample on You Tube. I don't do vinyl anymore so I'm waiting for a CD release. It seems inconceivable to me that this won't also be released by Eastgate.

Re: Jean-Michel Jarre and Tangerine Dream

There's a new entry on JMJ's Facebook page - One of his new collaborations is with Tangerine Dream, entitled Zero Gravity, limited to 1000 12" copies.
Time for an official announcement on this website I think !

Re: What do you think / wish: is this the end of TD?

Regarding Tangerine Dream: In the past I got asked so many times if I would carry on the TD torch or if I would continue with TD when Edgar retires and so on and my answer was always: NO! And I'll keep it that way. Therefore, I won't support (or merge with) any kind of wannabe lineups, not now nor ...

Re: The News About Edgar

I'm so impressed with all the fantastic comments made by the members of the Forum, which show what a great love of Edgar's and TD's music we have. We are all in mourning for the great man but the music lives on in eternity, which I find a great comfort.

Re: Mala Kunia

Great post, Rayman. I think that most of us on the forum have an awful lot to thank Edgar and TD for over the many, many years of innovative, beautiful and profound music. Personally, I do not find the current output to my liking as much as the 70's and 80's and I know that I'll be shot down by thos...
