I held onto my money instead of turning up at Manchester. I'm glad I did as he has been playing the laser harp and knocking off tunes from over 30 years ago for over 20 years. Once you have seen him that's it really. Saw him last year with the Oxygene tour which was quite good as he didn't jump abo...

Absolutely gutted! Have got a non refundable hotel room and train tickets already booked so will just have to have a nice day in London instead! I'm hoping they don't rearrange to clash with the Ashes tickets I've got or any juicy footy games next season. Just relieved to hear they think Dave is goi...

Nice videos! Reminded me that he actually hit a couple of bum notes in the laser harp Rendezvous pt II section - nobody's perfect I suppose! As far as JMJ's back catalogue goes I'm not really much of an afficionado as I pretty much lost interest after Rendezvous (which only has 2 tracks I liked, PtI...

Most recent acquisitions:- Incantations (download) - Mike Oldfield, not really listened to it properly yet, but sounds quite nice; Primary Colours - The Horrors, great record with a fantastic late 80's/ early 90's indie atmosphere; Fever Ray - Fever Ray, effectively a solo album by Karin Drejer Ande...

Well, I decided to fork out to see JMJ at the NIA on Sunday - after all it's not often you get the chance to see an electronic musician in a 12,000 seat arena, even though I'd guess it was only about 3/4 full. The stage and equipment set up was similar to the Oxygene tour from last year and he had t...

Congratulations to Birmingham on their promotion to The Premiership (together with Wolves) today 8) Thanks mate! A very tense day but we got there in the end. It's been probably the toughest season I can remember but fair play to Eck he did what was asked of him and deserves a second chance to show...

I bought Pulse from SMD, mainly because I think PLs music is superb, but also as I was inspired by his gesture. I was sickened to hear of what subsequently happened and can see how it would put him off doing anything more. I do hope his friend recovered - a lad in the class my girlfriend teaches rec...

Interesting article - I saw all those bands first time around - really made me feel old! The Longview remixes are absolutely sensational, they really draw out the beauty of the songs by putting them in a completely different setting - an object lesson in how to remix a track. Unfortunately the album...

Do you like it? I quite like it without being blown away with it. I've been following them since 1990 when i first heard Violator , and in a complete moment of madness ordered the SOTU black Box Set.... glad i did now..... loads of extra tracks, books etc.... definately for the collector... As for ...

Recently bought/ acquired:- TD - Flame, a fine disc with a few future classics (Synth Affection for one), but I can't help thinking it would have been better if they'd have replaced the remixed tracks with 2 previously unreleased (eg swapped them for 2 of the new tracks from Booster II); TD - downlo...

This is by some distance the highlight of the album for me, Alan Wilder seems to have the unerring knack of employing absolutely terrible singers for his otherwise pretty decent music.

I'm sure he's trying to do something different but that electronic blues thing just seems so false and hackneyed.

Looking forward to tonight's concert, will bring back memories of my youth :) So, what did you think? I really enjoyed it - an excellent choice of material leaning heavily on Vienna and Rage in Eden plus the better cuts from later albums (still can't stand Reap the Wild Wind though). Loved the exte...

Bestival is a brilliant festival - the only one to come anywhere near Glastonbury's vibe - I'll probaly be going, Kraftwerk in the open air sounds too good to miss.

hope the weather's better than last year though!
