Does seem a bit stuppid - I'm no technician but it seems to me the obvious place for the compression is where it's wanted; at the radio station. It also shouldn't be impossible to integrate a "deafness guaranteed!" on-the-fly dynamic compressor into mp3 players, for the customers who want...

But ok I suppose if there's a chance they could unin...

If you think TD sometimes got bad reviews, I wonder how Phillip Glass might feel after reading this:

P.S. The author of that blog post (Charlie Skelton) usually writes for The Guardian...

I don't know if the so-called "loudness war" has already been discussed here (see http://dynamicrange.de for more info), but the dynamics of at least this track are very low - just with so many music released today. I personally can't stand this. It has been discussed for a short while......

ABBA hint at reunion
Abba to re-form? ‘Yeah, why not?’

Some sounds in the video are the same as the effects section of Tangram Set 2 towards the end around 15:45. So that's actually Edgar's heartbeat we hear on Tangram? Interesting.

I have said so before , but someone needs to get the original master tapes, get them to one of the top mastering facilities and press some real analog masterpieces. Only hard $$$ will do this. Yes but how likely could it happen that EMI gives out a license to another company when they want to sell ...

1995 digital remaster on vinyl? Waste of plastic. What a stupid, stupid decision. Thanks for the info though, saved me some money... yes, but even a vinyl mastered from a digital copy will sound superduper :P In all likelihood this move by EMI seals it that there will never ever be fresh viny...

Hi drmusicj, as far as I know there has never been a statement by TD or Membran that ALL Eastgate/TDI CD's are going to be issued on Membran. For example, none of the Eastgate Cupdiscs have been released on Membran. Pretty much every "full" CD has been issued though. Here's Membran's own w...

We're lucky The Keep is just a soundtrack. The tragedy we're spared... "I swear I once saw a copy of the mythical Logos LP at my local record shop back in '82! The cover reminded me of the Encore stage photo, but without an UK flag in the background as far as I remember. I wanted to buy it but ...
