:) Got a friend of mine to watch some of this last weekend and the first thing he noticed was Iris drumming away madly but no drumming sounds coming out of the speakers that matched her actions, except for the cymbals. Why is this often the case with Iris's drumming on these DVD's? It happens a lot with Linda's flute and sax playing too. Is it just bad sound mixing or are they really not playing anything? I love seeing Iris doing her thing but it is annoying that the sounds don't go together a lot of the time. :?

this is due to what's known as Temporal Distortion, also known as TD, which in quantum physics circles has caused a huge amount of debate, similar to the anthropic principle or as many scientists put it: viewing (or even listening to) an event in spacetime, changes it, ie if we look at an atom, the act itself alters the atom, thus we can never be entirely sure of anything in actuality.

:? Confused - Just played this DVD again but this time not on the 5.1 audio setting and the sound, especially the bass, was much better. Drumming still well down in the mix on some tracks but generally much better. I thought 5.1 was supposed to be the better one but on this the bass seams to get lost. I must check this on the other DVD's - very strange. :?

through my DVD system: heavily modified Pioneer DV717 [modifed when I put my foot through it], 200 watts x 5.1 amp and speakers, the ONIS dvd has all the power grace and dynamic range of the gig itself, in fact the dvd has such good sound quality that I can hear the differences in the skin tightness of each of Iris's bongos........... :o

:) I have a 5.1/DTS amp (Denon) and all the speakers and sub-woofer etc but when that DVD is on with 5.1 Audio selected there is very little bass even with the sub-woofer cranked right up, yet when I switch it to the PCM Stereo mode the bass comes in at full pelt and shakes the foundations. Have they got the 5.1 mix in the PCM menu select and the PCM mix in the 5.1 menu select by mistake, because that is what it seems like to me?? :?

I'd have to check, but it might be on two DVDs...mind you it's only a small problem...your ears should tell you which is which

Never noticed it before....I hope whoever was responsible for the right royal cock-up on the track selection of this DVD got Edgar's boot up their backside. Didn't anyone check this before mass-produciing them???
