In this context I can't see any extreme right wing attitude expressed in what the director says, meaning to hurt TD because of their origin and accent, just a bit of joking to underline their different approaches to the project.

the bit i found to be slightly offensive was when the director kept doing his german(!) accent whilst repeating the bit about shooting people with guns.

i guess cos it's directed at TD, otherwise it wouldn't bother me as much

.....but i guess he's only having some fun, i just get a bit protective of TD, i need to stop being uptight about these things

Yes, he is certainly patronising Edgar and co.s intellectual and artistical integrity, but I see it as a satirical spoof to underline different approaches to the project. In the end Phil's the one, who'll appear as the clown! Think about all this TD music he has scrapped!

I wouldn't say that they guy was being racist but I do think he's playing on racial steriotypes unnecessarily. I'm sure he wouldn't like it if he was described using typical American steriotypes.
