Pump up the volume

Post by xsaram3 »

I was quite supprised to read a recent post about the "Forum" gig that the volume was too loud!

This got me wondering if I'm alone in my listening habits.

I don't believe the awesome TD sound came ever be too loud, I always find myself notching the volume up a bit with each track I listen to.
If I'm in the car (alone) by the end of my journey the windows are rattling, if i'm listening on ipod my ears are nearly bleeding by the end of a couple of albums!

So I've added a little poll, just for fun (and because I've never done one!)

What do you lot think and how loud do you like it?

I'm in a middle floor flat so simply must keep the voulume quite low. On headphones I play any music loud enough so as I can tolerate it. I used to crank it up but had the environmental health guys at my door as a neighbour complained. I was looking at a 100 quid on the spot fine if his witness had heard the racket from my flat.....

I like good, clean sound and I often listen to music with headphones. If the music is too loud, my ears distort the sound after a while, which is neither healthy, nor an audiophile experience... ;-)

I love deep extended bass. I am fortunate enough to work from home and the rooms either side of my main listening room are living rooms too...

I have the volume up just enough to hear the doorbell or telephone, and occasionally will get emotional and bung it up to eleven!

I prefer my TD listened to on headphones to be able to appreciate all the sound projections, and full stereo spread, plus an steroe effects.

Listening to on a concentional HI - FI I feel you just don't hear all of what's beong put across 8)

I'm forced to listen my music on headphones nearly all the time, which means that I quite often miss out on the lovely subsonics that TD use. Mind you, as soon as everyone's out of the house, on goes the hi-fi. I don't have it on full blast because of the sound distortion and pain that would produce.

i might be strange but when I listen to my favourite electronic artists I want to hear the synthesisers as well as the percussion and guitar. I appear to be one of the few, from the recent gigs that has this opinion

That aside, I play TD loud :D

Both me & BM don't need headphones to be in a world of our own
