Instrumental releases of Dante Trilogy, MFD, Tyger, etc.?

If Tangerine Dream released instrumental versions of the Dante Trilogy, Madcap's Flaming Duty, etc. would you buy them (on CD or download)?

Instrumental releases of Dante Trilogy, MFD, Tyger, etc.?

Post by TangFanIRL »

Following the cracking remixes of TD works on Vintage Vanguard it made me wonder if people (fans) would pay for instrumental CDs/downloads of releases which have mostly vocals on them, such as the Dante Trilogy, Madcap's Flaming Duty, Tyger etc.. Hence this poll!

What do you think?

EB - please keep an eye on this one!!! ;-)

My "yes" is important for Madcaps Flaming Duty. An instrumental version would be a cracking alternative.
Maybe same good results are possible with Inferno and Purgatorio.
But with Paradiso it will not work so well: if the vocals and the orchestra were removed here, only some music is left.

Of course it might be the musical structures would need to be changed, being to0 sparce without the vocals...and then you'd get people whinging about even more recording ;)

I think this is a very good idea and would especially be interested in "Purgatorio" and particularly "Chasing The Bad Seed" 8) 8) 8)

Yep. I'd be up for vocal-less versions of theses albums.

Hasn't most of the MFD been released as instrumental versions anyway?

You could be on to something there Andy. How about these albums done with vocals replacing all the synths. The barbershop-TD series.

...only joking. Couldn't think of anything worse.

that reminds me of Graham C in Eindhoven, he went to see this Pink Floyd covers band...and they were all vocal...different to say the least ;)

Yes I would buy them on CD preferably..but...I don't want to see them released as appart for Paradiso the Dante series is already great..MFD would be more welcome but as said above most of it is already out there in vocal less form.

I would be very interested in the Dante series and especially MFD being released on CD in this manner.

Hope it happens 8)

I don't know if these would entirely work as some of the music in the dante trilogy was composed to suit vocals.
MFD would be better as some of the material would adapt perfectly well
especially something like one hour of madness

I would certainly buy them, just because of my obsessive compulsive disorder though! There are some vocal tracks already instrumentalised that when I listen, I always feel something is missing: Loved by the Sun in particular.

However, there are many tracks from the Dante Trilogy that I would love to hear without vocals, particularly 'Chasing the bad seed' mentioned above.
