Encore really is my favourite album. It is quintessential TD. The interweaving sequences on Cherokee Lane, Edgar's guitar playing is trully amazing on Coldwater Canyon, the atmosphere of Desert Dream and the good fun of the Hobo March aswell as the excitement of the Stratosfear part on Monolight.... what an awesome album, my good men. Furthermore, I couldn't give a hoot if some fusspots dislike like the soundquality.... cus the music shines through and it sounds better than the rest on my american pressing of the LP :P

and I like to look at all of the photos in the LP to see the mighty TD.... they are all great photos. I used to look at them while I listened, especially the one on the back of the cover.

I've said before that I don't quite "get it" on this album. However I'm playing it again as I type and I like Monolight increasingly apart from the "theme" about a third of the way through - far better the sequenced bi that follows.

Coldwater Canyon? Yeah, the older I've got the more I can visualise it.....

Thumbs up from me? Well, it's at more than half way these days...

Think I've spent more money replacing worn out copies of Encore
over the years than any other TD release to date. Absolute classic. :D

Monolight, aswell as the rest of the concert, is well worth a listen to on the Washington, April 4th 1977, Lisner Auditorium CD of The Bootleg Box Set vol.2.... like it or not, it remains a true classic :D

An excellent live album. I remember I played it incessantly when I bought it. I haven't heard it in quite a while, so I'm going to have to give it a listen again sometime real soon. Coldwater Canyon? Yeah, a great track! And I love the original Desert Dream with its haunting trumpet-like sound.

Each of the four tracks is superb. This album gets a lot of airplay here. :D

:D Absolutely a wonderful live album, and the best live album of the 70s. Also, I think it's the first truly great album they did after the release of Phaedra (Atem being the best of the Froese/Franke/Baumann lineup). All in my very humble opinion, of course.

Coldwater Canyon is slightly weaker that the other tracks for me.
