I saw this a few days ago and I couldn't figure out what to think of it, in the first place.. I don't get what Shatner meant to do... But it's fairly pathetic, in the end, I guess... Transforming one of the most beautiful vocal melodies ever in a rambling speech.. I think he did this kind of spoken vocals on other songs. What's the point ? He used to be a kind of "crooner singer", wasn't he ?Chris Monk wrote:Just found this on YouTube:

Hysterical.
Put simply, the guy can't sing so he's "acting" his way through the song. Could work too if he'd put the intonations in the right place and did it with feeling. Sadly he's just hamming it up and, for me, it's falling flat. I won't be buying a copy any time soon. Maybe if it's in the bargain bin I might.Marc M wrote:I saw this a few days ago and I couldn't figure out what to think of it, in the first place.. I don't get what Shatner meant to do... I had thought I'd buy the record but I will not, now.
Well, there's a thin line between love and hate, I'm keeping an open mindDesert_Voyager wrote:Well, I shall be avoiding this release

Got to agree. I loved Star Trek as a kid. It was very ground-breaking.Laserdisc Dream wrote: “Star trek has maybe formed the consciousness for space traveling more than a thousand
Pages of scientific explorations.
Shatner as Captain Kirk or Nimoy as officer Spock have not just actors, they become companion
For those millions of fans around the globe who yearned for that feeling of getting rid of earth’s
Gravity and looking for a new homeland.
The adventures of the USS Enterprise have even convinced the ultimate skeptic that we
Earthlings are not the only ones in space ….
As for as bill Shatner is concerned: beam him up, Scotty – straight to No. 1”
