Listened to this a lot over the last week. Went away on holiday the day after The Lowry show and only took 3 CDs. This one, Angel From The West Window and PPM's Metropolis Poetry.

The CD has a great selection of tracks; some old, some new and some reworked material. The new material is The Gate of Saturn and The End Of Bondage, both of which are great additions to TD's repertoire. The old material is Vernal Rapture which should be fairly familiar to all TDOC subscribers. And the reworked material is Logos 2011 and Cool At Heart 2011 both classic tracks from the past.

So another good cup-disc release and more fuel for the next Booster compilation.

Up till now Metaphor was my favourite, followed possibly by Sleeping Watches (although technically this was prior to the invention of cupdiscs)

Have to say Saturn is vying for leadership with Metaphor 8)

Just arrived in Scotland today.

Superb cupdisc and a worthy addition to the cupdisc series.

Played it 3 times in a row...
Be at one with the sequencing.....

The cupdisc and "Angel" arrived today. I've just played them.
Well, I must play "Gate of Saturn" again but it didn't impress me very much at first listen. I couldn't grab any theme. The sounds weren't too new to me either.
I do like the two covers of old TD tunes, pretty much. They might well be superior to the original versions, especially this excerpt from "Logos", which is now more richly arranged. I think it was a good idea to add more layers and more rhythms/sequences.
"Vernal Rapture", I didn't know... But it's the best track on the cupdisc, I tend to think. Well done, Thorsten.

I wish we had a real jewel case and the credits, yet. Those cardboard sleeves with hardly any info are cheap. 10 euros plus +3 euros for the postage , that's not peanuts....

Prompted by a posting over at Tadream, wonder why they re-used the track title (The) Gate Of Saturn.

It was originally used on the Astoria EP, as a preview of the Mota Atma CD.
When Mota Atma came out however, the track was re-titled Brain Offender.

And now we have a completely different (and FAR superior) track
call The Gate Of Saturn.

Odd...

Well if Logos had sounded that good at Sheffield city hall when I saw it live first time round the building might not still be standing.
As for the other tracks on the disc Vernal Rapture is the stand out one.
Now if only we could get a Mojave Plan 2011

ooooh, White Eagle remakes would be neat.

bananarama Ohr albums would be an unusual project

I'd like to hear that but I suspect it would generate some criticism.

Mojave Plan 2011 would be cool.

decided to check out the previews for this and Angel.

Gate of Saturn really does sound like it's one of their best cupdiscs to date. i completely agree it's of the same quality shown on metaphor. it sounds like TD has really been making some improvements in their sound. it's like they are trying to sound like old TD, but at the same time not sounding dated
