Might do that - only have a CDR-copy + the original LP version... :P

Sounds to me like it's the music composed by Tangerine Dream but played by other musicians....

Interesting release. A re-recording of TD's score. Might be worth a shot.
(got the original LP, CD and extended versions already but hey ho!)

:? Can't really see the point in getting this unless you don't possess the original TD score. How can you better the original which in my mind is a TD classic. By the way, were TD consulted on this I wonder??

The idea of the re-recording itself isn't a bad idea, as the same musician had already released a version of the Unicorn theme that was actually very nice, giving it a more orchestral feel in addition to the electronics.

What I don't understand, and the producer of this new release has neglected to answer, although he was asked ... why not include more of the unreleased score ? This is just an interpretation of the material on the MCA album, with the two short additional score tracks and then covers of the songs and "alternate versions" of tracks on the album.

There could have easily been another 30 minutes of unreleased score re-recorded here. It just seems like a huge missed opportunity. Who wants more versions of Is Your Love Strong Enough ?

I highly doubt TD was involved. The rights to the music were probably licensed directly from Universal and TD was bypassed.

It'd be nice for those who don't have the MCA LP or the Varese CD, but... it could have been so much more.

Yes, once TD delivered the score to Ridley Scott in 1985 and got their payment, they no longer had any rights to the music. I guess someone could release a TUBA version of the score without TD having anything to say about it.

I'm not interested of these re-makes. I wish I could have the original one for a sane price. Movie soundtracks are almost always released in too few copies and they become expensive rarities. These re-makes make me only frustrated, a re-release of the original is what I'm waiting for.

Considering also the way the movie has been released in Europe on DVD and Blu-ray we can say that Legend is a source of legendary frustration for fans of TD!
