Sorry for the delay in replying. I realise that these albums will not be available any longer through Eastgate and that the new versions on Moonpop will be the only ones you can get and that is fine for those that have never bought the original. However, what I am getting at is if, like me, you did buy the original then it is not good to add a couple of new tracks to it expecting us to buy it again just for those. It would be much fairer to release the original DM albums on Moonpop and just put all the previously unreleased tracks onto a 'new' album so that we can buy them and not have to buy the DM ones again. If all the DM tracks had been re-recorded/re-mixed then that may have been a different matter but if they are exactly the same as the originals it is not worthing forking out that money again for two new tracks (or 1 + 1 longer version of previously released track).
I would totally agree with you here Ant.
I've got all of the DM albums, but will
not be purchasing 2.1.
I could perhaps see and argument if the DM albums had gone out of print or they were impossible to get hold of or something like that.
The whole idea of asking us, the fans, to purchase something that we already have with the enticement of a single additional track that he knows we don't have strikes me as being VERY manipulative.
At the end of the day the new track will be costing us anywhere between £10-£15.
I'd rather invest this money on a whole new album such as
Summertime in Nagasaki when it comes out in July
Be at one with the sequencing.....
