Did wonder whether Kamikaze would be released soon since the Fassbinder Memorial concert was also held at the Alte Oper in Frankfurt.

I've already got Destination Berlin and it gets played from time to time. A few of the songs are a bit light / "silly", but we must remember that this is a soundtrack - maybe they fit in well with the things happening in the movie. Berlin Summer Nights is beautiful.

I'm going to wait with Kamikaze and probably pick it up when it is released on CD.

Kamikaze (1989) - Love the original :D - dislike the re-recording. :(

Just wish Edgar and EMI would "bury the hatchet" and get the proper original soundtrack album reissued.

Is it re-recorded ? I've only heard the previews and never heard the original but it doesnt sound like there's modern tangetising going on ?

received Kamikaze CD today from amazon marketplace.

nice if unspectacular at first listen, but I immediately liked
" Flying Kamikaze"

In a very, very strange way this reminds me of the soundtrack of the Commodore 64 game "Fist II" (which I absolutely adore..)

not sure what the above comment is supposed to mean?

anyway, to answer the question raised, it is the 1988 UK version which I bought at amazon marketplace Germany for 9,99 euro plus 3 euro postage.
the booklet is slightly damaged, but I still considered it a decent price

if I understand VitN correctly, there is only one uk cd version from 1988, and the german versions are the same but with an additional sticker
(plus, there is a 1988 US version apparently)

Well, you have been lucky as the ones I saw this evening from Marketplace sellers on Amazon.fr and Amazon.uk are much, much more expensive. And they were mentioning 1992 as the year of release... No matter, they are very often completely wrong as regards the year of release - and even as regards the record label sometimes !
I didn't think a CD version existed, until recently, by the way. I wish I had it. It's not outstanding as a whole, like any soundtrack from Edgar & Co but it's got its good moments and I quite liked the sounds that Edgar used at the time. Enjoy ! :)
