Great video, Chris ! 8)
It's like the 70's are back (improvisation with stellar sounds)...
My thoughts entirely. I was immediately struck by a similarity with TD of the late 70s and early 80s. Improvised music and Edgar teasing all sorts of cosmic noises out of a guitar. I really like what Brian May has done with the opportunity, it's clear he 'gets' TD.
Ultima Thule part 3 :!: :!: 8)

Best video I have seen so far from this concert. Great! Love the first track!

PS. What does Mr. May say at 09:59? To me it sounds like: "...Mr. Israelian..."?

He's mentioning Garik Israelian, his close friend and the organiser of the Starmus event.

I wonder whether it was him we have to thank for pairing up TD and Brian May.

MPL3D Solar System - Star sounds

"This video shows a computer emulation of stellar seismology in different stars. The surface of a star usually oscillates, and this oscillation can be tranformed into an audible sound wave.

Stellar seismology is the study of the propagation of these wave oscillations in the stars, particularly acoustic pressure waves."

Also, you can read more about it on wikipedia

As for what I've seen , I find it pretty disappointing... nothing happens, no melody.
Maybe the bad sound preventsme to appreciate the atmospheric sounds too...
And Brian May, who's been my top favourite guitarist for so many years is playing a series of false notes in the middle of his own instrumental Lost Horizon... obviously false.

Not sure I understand your point here.

False, as in pretending to play. Or false, as in playing the wrong notes.

Yes, sorry, I should know by now that we say rather "wrong notes" !
I love this instrumental and he does nice things to colour it on the rest of the song but at one point he plays several wrong notes in the middle. I guess that if it's released on a DVD, he'll correct that with studio overdubs, although it's fantastic playing.
I don't think it works too well with the TD sequenced bits of today, anyway. It's a rather traditional orchestral piece of work.

"at one point he plays several wrong notes in the middle."

Brian might choose to quote our famous UK comedian Eric Morcambe about this comment:

"I'm playing all the RIGHT notes, but not necessarily in the right order !

Brilliant. Totally classic. Very fond memory from my youth.
