Andy Summers

Post by HarryPotter No7 »

The ex-police guitarist supported TD on their North American Tour of 1988 right?

So I thought I'd check out his autobiography down at my local bookstore thinking there would be many references to TD.

THERE was NO MENTION WHATSOEVER (in the pretty comprehensive index anyway).

Bearing in mind Mr Summers solo work wasnt very vast I thought supporting TD would have been quite a big event for him, thus giving it a mention in his book.

I'm wondering if maybe he and TD fell out? any1 have any ideas on this?

Just curious.......:-)

I've heard several 'back stage' stories about Andy (and I'm not going to repeat them here), however he wasn't in a good mood by the sounds of it.

There is a picture of Summers and Edgar in the Mulitmedia section of this site. Summers didn't exactly seem happy on the picture, and there is this "distance" between the two. No communication. Check it yourself.

The picture from 1988 is in the 1990-2000 section, for some reason.

I never liked Mr. Summers particular guitar style and always despised The Police, so it's just as well this collaboration didn't last long.

I have Summers' soundtrack to the film Down And Out In Beverly Hills from 1986, and it's absolutely horrible.

I haven't heard much of his other stuff though.

There are a lot of bands that literally make my skin crawl. I'm not naming names on the forum though.
