You're not wrong

It would have been about this time (mid to late 80s) that many artists started to release their music on CD, so i guess Schulze was no longer limited to 2 pieces running no longer than 27 or 28 minutes each when he released an album as he was in the 70s.

I have most of his albums, and while i do appreciate and enjoy longer compositions, i will admit that Klaus really can take a while to say everything he's got to say in a piece of music.....

In complete contrast i've been listening to a lot of Michael Garrison lately and he tends to be the opposite in that he is master of the short track. I can't think of anything he's done that exceeds 15 minutes, infact most of his tracks are well under 10 minutes.

One of the benefits of CD of course is that many of those vintage Schulze concerts from the 70's have now been able to be released in their entirety in editions such as Silver, Historic etc.... without having to be edited down to meet the constraints of vinyl....
Be at one with the sequencing.....

I loved KS when I first got into E Music but I went of him very quickly, his early albums didn`t offer much to me as they are very long winded and each album didn`t seem to change drastically in terms of style from the previous one.

I must say I have been impressed with Moonlake, Kontinuum and Farscape I wouldn`t say I am a massive fan of his but I certainly have a lot of respect for him

One of the great things about TD is the constant change of direction and different styles that are used, as a listener you want to be constantly challanged with music, well I do anyway.

My view of the two styles; TD's and Klaus's is that TD at its best takes you on a journey through a city of images and emotions, taking in many highspots and sometimes showing you the world from a different angle. On the other hand Klaus's latest stuff is like being shown round by a bad tour guide who takes you to the best art gallery in the world and then prompty leaves you in ticket foyer. All build up and you wonder if the journey was worth it.

I've not really clicked with KS, I tend to loose interest during the tracks. Not heard a vast amount though. Quite liked Cyborg and X but not enough to listen repeatedly.

Yep, have timewind, it's OK but you know - if it don't clcik it don't click

In fact I had it on the other day having played the vinyl into the PC.

And I had one of those "I should put some music on" moments while it as still playing as it had just become background.

Not saying it's bad - just doesn't, well, click with me.
