Had some information over the weekend of an upcoming 4 CD remastered box set of Edgar Froese material. Not 100% sure of the contents yet,but hopefully it will be 4 seperate remastered albums from the EF catalogue

yes, from wot I know its being remastered from ORIGINAL master tapes...by Skye Mastering.... who do excellent work.

Im looking forward to the results and the ensuing moans :P :oops:


brilliant original music, needs tender loving care in mastering....and i have faith that Skye will do a great job.

Is the not the Edgar Froese Virgin Years 4 CD (1974 - 1983) collection?

Release date April 2nd.

But which albums?

Aqua, Epsilon, Ages, Stuntman, Kamikaze or Pinnacles?

this important and influential artist's solo recordings for Virgin Records.
Comprising of five complete albums, plus a number of Bonus Tracks available on
CD for the first time!
If you are yawning and thinking 'not another compilation' yawn not - these are
2012 REMASTERS!
The highly prolific TANGERINE DREAM, led by Edgar Froese for over 40 years,
signed to Virgin Records in 1974, with Froese developing a concurrent solo
career.
Debut solo album: 'Aqua' (1974) recorded in Berlin appears here augmented with
the alternative version of: 'NGC 891' from his 1981 compilation album: 'Solo
1974-1979'.
'Epsilon In Malaysian Pale' (1975) also includes the Alternative Version of the
Title Track.
'Ages' (1978) recorded in Autumn 1977 at Amber Studios in Berlin. The album is
complemented with 2 Bonus Tracks including the Remix Versions of 'Pizarro And
Atahuallpa' and 'Tropic Of Capricorn' available on CD for the first time.
'Stuntman' Froese's 5th studio album was issued in 1979. This four-disc release
is completed with 'Pinnacles' opus, recorded in 1983.

this is fantastic news!

spent some money on macula transfer recently and own now all original cds except epsilon, but still a great release, especially with the solo 1974-1979 extras!

only minor quibble would be that they cramp the original albums on the discs and sometimes split them over two discs, but since hardly anybody would have expected such a re-release, I really cant complain...

Yeah, but I guess that's because Macula was not released by Virgin ?

No idea why it wasn't though...
