THORSTEN QUAESCHNING - BEHIND CLOSED DOORS concerts

Post by 32 years + counting »

Apologies if someone has posted about this somewhere else on the forum, but TQ has been doing these great live improv concerts called BEHIND CLOSED DOORS twice a week for a month now, with a special guest for each show.

You can watch live streams on Mondays and Thursdays on YouTube at:
https://www.youtube.com/user/PicturePalacemusic

He then posts full res audio next day at:
https://thorstenquaeschning.bandcamp.com

Highlights for me have been the shows with Stephan Bobinger, Anna-Maria Van Reusel, and most especially Markus Reuter. The section 15:00 - 24:00 from that session is flat out fantastic....one of the the best pieces I've ever heard by TQ, with Reuter's brilliant guitar parts giving it huge power. All the more extraordinary given that both are improvising.

Hi,

Marcus Reuter would probably be the best thing to happen to TD, even if it was just as a guest here and there ... I think I will enjoy listening to this, as Marcus has a lot of great material around, and has a way to make other folks look better around him!

I'm also wondering if Thorsten is looking for new material and how to incorporate different things, and I think that a guitar is definitely in the works ... it has had an incredible history in TD ... and I hope it's not just for a "solo", but the whole piece of music, and (at least!) with Marcus, you know there won't be a solo ... it's all included!

Second chapter is also interesting. But beware of overkill, please.
