I suppose it can work with other music but with TD I can really relive listening moments...

1st Force Majeure @ grandparents
1st Zeit wondering what the heck is this?
1st Cyclone on a one channel only record player and then 2nd Cyclone @ grandparents again on a decent stereo during BCS hearing a whole new flute line and getting freaked out
.
Exit on Capital Radio
.
DM3 on a new CD Walkman
.
.
DM4 Xmas shopping in Kingston
.
.
Autumn in Hiroshima on the train to Edinburgh on repeat after the London gig in 2008 opening with Trauma

I can really hear the music again as I heard it then - like a recording was made at the time.

Sigh :(

Good post and idea for discussion, shame the entire TD fan base seems to have bailed out of here and no longer contributes to the TD forum.

Anyhow , first experience of TD . Strange sounds and noises emanating from my mates big brother's room. Think it was Ricochet. WTF was that ??? I was 12 , the seed was sown.

Bloke walking about high school carrying his Cyclone LP . Remember everyone doing that ? What an album cover, heard Rubycon in a music "lesson" round about that time.

First purchase - Force Majeure . On cassette , in Spain on my first holiday abroad . Life changing album.

Underwater Sunlight when I dipped into TD again after a while away during the chaotic years

Likewise Turn of the Tides during the chaotic child rearing times !! was great to hear TD again.

And after years away on other musical journeys to discover the website and Sleeping Watches download. That was it , I was back in the TD world.

What a journey. Thank you Tangerine Dream.

And do you find you can really relive those moments? I only get snatches but it really feels like I'm hearing it as I did then for a moment.

Definitely with Force Majeure.

I try not to play it too often and in fact rarely do. It is one of my top 3 so do not want to over do it.

Thus every time I play it is special and transports me back to that time when it was engrained in my psyche for evermore.
