Anyone who doesn't have this and enjoys early TD should go for this..I'm going to pass as I own the original and can't see how they can improve the already decent sound quality. £35 is a steal.

My money is on these being CD rips, bricked to make them sound louder. I bet they use the RAH disc with 18 mins missing too. :)

Think I will order this. Don't have any of these boxes. Guess the other will be released also then.

Hmmm, see no added value to this release, if it doesn't have any extra's on it.
That is also my commend on the Esoteric things. To little for me to buy.

Still waiting for real rereleases with many extra's

Not the original boxes... :?

An important question : is the sound on the original boxes much better than on the Trees ?
Because in this case, I could buy the new boxes (new masters could imply an even better sound)...
A new cosmic address for the Master Dreamer...

8) 8) Presumably they'll be good then. And maybe have the original typos etc corrected.

The third & new box might (!) contain the following concerts which were licensed from Esoteric/Cherry Red a while ago (http://www.cherryred.co.uk/crzone/licen ... php?ndx=14) :

Reims - Cathedral Notre Dame - 13th December 1974
TRACK TITLES TBC
Coventry Cathedral - 4th October 1975
TRACK TITLES TBC
York Minster Cathedral - 20th October 1975
TRACK TITLES TBC
Circus-Krone-Bau, Munich - 27th October 1976
TRACK TITLES TBC
Hammersmith Odeon, London - 28th March 1978
TRACK TITLES TBC
Royal Albert Hall London - 7th June 1979 (should be 1976)
TRACK TITLES TBC

Reims 1974 is a no-brainer, however the remaining concerts are mostly mediocre to poor sounding audience recordings (three of them ended up in the inferior sounding Tangerine Leaves series, and I should have put London 1978 in there too). I have mixed feelings about the re-release. As some of you might remember back in 2002/2003 the Tangerine Tree series had just started when TD used parts of the first two sets which made up the Bootleg Box sets, but looking back now it all came too soon. Had they contacted me two or three years later the overall quality and choice of concerts would have been much better. But i'm curious about the "new source master tapes"...apart from a true stereo master of the 1975 BBC recording which seems to have surfaced and the much clearer audience master of Sheffield 74 i have no idea as to how much better the rerelease might sound.

Greetings,
Heiko H.

Hmm. Very curious indeed. Certainly, no one's better placed to know for sure than Whoopy. Except for whoever claims to have better master sources of course.
