MFD Lyrics

Post by ant »

:( Does anyone know if there is a list of MFD track lyrics which just shows the lines actually sung in the songs. The ones in the download give all the poem lines of which 95% aren't in the songs and when the lines that are are all over the place it makes it extremely difficult to follow. What they should have done, at least, is highlight the lines that are sung, that at least would have made it a little easier to follow. I notice also that on the Solutions To All Problems track on the CD in the DVD pack, the last line that is sung on the normal CD release is missing, ie: As Grows The Grass. Why??

There are also several mispronunciations which makes it difficult for people to understand if you haven't got the lyrics in front of you.

Having said all this though, I still love the album.

I also love the album. I do listen to the lyrics, I listen to Chris Hausl, but this piece moves me everytime...

I asked her if she'd marry me,
she said it could never be,
For she had got another,
and he was far at sea.
She said that she would wait for him
and true she would remain.
Till he returned for his Creole girl,
By the lakes of Pontchartrain.

So fare thee well my Creole girl,
I never will see you no more,
But I'll ne'er forget your kindness
in the cottage by the shore.
And at each social gathering
a flowing glass I'll raise,
And I'll drink a health to my Creole girl,
And the lakes of Pontchartrain.
