I totally disagree, yes, this poll is a complete waste of time... but at least Chris' hard work DID represent the TD fans, he had very much contributers, and it was very interesting to see the outcome.

I can't understand why some, even say it defies all logic, that certain seventies albums did not make it higher...it doesn't, it defies THEIR OWN personal preconception of logic... or rather taste. And taste is not facts.

Thanks again for the poll, Chris, it was good that it could stir up things in a positive way.

I will also add, I heard my first album in 2002, and that was Rubycon... I do not have sentimental spots for certain eras, as I'm very young, and still very new to TD, which might explain, that I find DM1 better than Sorcerer, and Ambient Monkeys better than Alpha Centauri.

There I said it - and it felt good! Ha!

I agree with the poll, as it's very representitive. A lot of people took part in it...
It does not mirror personal taste, though. And thank God!

The reason I set up polls, is because, it gives a good overview, of what people like, and one is not forced to participate...
I think the 'year 19something: A vs. B.' are very interesting, to see what people prefer, and since KS came from the sane starting point as EF and TD, it's interesting to see what people prefer.
At least it has started a debate..

I think you've made some very good points Jacob.

I too found the poll Chris conducted fascinating. I DO agree with it, but I cannot understand the outcome. I would be very interested to know more about it - such as what were the age groups of who voted for what - what about demographics? Are '90s releases more popular in the States than Europe for instance.

At least on these polls, most people say what they have voted for too, and give their reasons - therefore I take far more away with me, but with many others, they only raise even more questions.

And they always will, because they create controversy. No two people are the same and the more in-depth the poll, the more this will be reflected.

No guys, you just HAVE to listen to Stratosfear on wax disc. It's MONO too, which gives a far better mix and the surface noise adds just that extra bit of realism and musicality to the tracks; far better than this new fangled LP nonsense..

You need a big horn though..
