NEW CD or DVD?

Post by ant »

:( What - no new releases this week!! Edgar, come on you're slacking. I'm getting withdrawal symptoms. I expect at least one new album per week otherwise I will just not be satisfied. I also need at least one DVD per month and that shouldn't be difficult as you must have many live concerts in your archives. :D :D

I've mentioned this forum several times to the staff at CDS in recent months
suggesting that it may give them some idea as to their level of customer satisfaction amongst TD fans. They do afterall sell TD stock comfortably in three figure volumes for each release so I've been told, and they have been made aware that we may be willing to support them more enthusiastically if they upped their profile and tried harder to get the product to the fans first.
They are a great little firm, as sincere, honest and helpful as you could wish for, but they do try your patience. They don't appear to read this forum, afterall TD aren't their only market, but they do claim to be specialists in synth and electronic music. Whether CDS like it or not, synth music doesn't get any bigger than TD.

Why do I have this strange unwavering loyalty to them?

Sorry lads...you lost me as a customer years ago. As soon as other places starting stocking stuff cheaper or delivering it quicker I jumped ship.
Nice blokes though, 'if' they had a decent website I would have been tempted to stay with them... it's terrible.

lol...hmmm come on lads you could have soted out years ago. Even a simple page with reviews and the latest discs would have been a help...with ONE email address. SMD showed the way for years, but other reasons soured my opinion about them. These days there's loads of places you get your CDs from, back in the day there was only people like Ultima Thule or Lotus records, they had passion about music, but only one is still going. To be honest the record shop is ****ed, chances are they'll all go within the next 5 years, and (sadly) I wouldn't be surprised if one online EM dealer goes the same way. They've tapped into the whole retro market that sells to 40-50 year old blokes...when they've gone, where's yer market?

Yep. Ordered via CDS. They've done me a cracking service over the last couple of decades but seem to have gone off the boil over the last six months. I'm hoping it's only temporary.

I still salute them for all the hard work they've done, Andy G in particular has done more to promote EM in this country than anybody I know. I'd also still recommend them to any EM, but for my needs and tastes I can go elsewhere these days

i agree with andy

but for I, BM now buys TD from Eastgate only, fast and efficient

fopp : RIP

record shops : i fear the worst........and its the itunes world thats done the deed.......but there will always be those who crave music as artifact not ephemeral digits downloaded via a faceless tyranny we worship as technological innovation....I am no 21st century peasant....the way things are going we will soon download music direct to the brain.....how mad

Couldn't care less about the major record stores, 'they brung it on themselves'. Years of overcharging has taken it's toll. It used to drive me crazy when I used to be able to get a UK CD sent to me from the US for less than I could buy it in the local HMV/Virgin/Our Price/etc.

Feel sorry for the Independants who've done sterling work over the years, keeping the cult music going. Mind you they may do better with the majors out of the way....possibly.
