We used to have two independent record stores in our town. Now there is just a mail order outlet, dealing in second hand goods. I'd estimate 80% of the retail outlets here, are Estate Agents, Hairdressers and Restaurants/Takeaways. They are the only ones that can afford the business rates. The landlord of our local pub, recently moved to Dorset and reduced his rates by 87%! It's a disgrace that local councils can strangle the life out of communities in this way!

Try this website 24db. They have plenty of TD in stock along with related material. You may need a large cheque book along with a credit card as some of the items are relatively on the expensive side. Although there are some real rareties on offer. I recently spent a small fortune with them and the goods were dispatched and received promptly.

Not so long ago you could buy pretty much everything from Electronic Meditation through to the latest release including all the film soundtracks . But now your'e lucky if their's 3 albums for sale

HMV had Madcaps, Paradiso and Zeit and thats it. Virgin had Ricochet and Phaedra.

I know that TD releases dont dent the charts these days but I saw plenty of people flicking through the CD's in both shops and I am sure there is still a market for them to sell in the major London Stores

Obviously Madcaps and Paradiso are recent releases so why have them but not the Nagasaki albums or Joan of Arc ? They must all sell in similar quantities I would have thought !
Oxford Street HMV did have a DM2.1 the other day though but there's no denying these mainstream outlets have a pitiful representation of TD's canon.
imho

These days I can't find anything at all in the local stores. HMV does get in a few surprises though. Even their online shop has a lot of holes. I long for the day when I could jump on a bus on monday morning and pick up almost any album out on that day.
