Poland: What's in a name?

Post by 24db »

A little snippet of news (thanks to Nikos for the translation). It appears that when TD played in Greece in 1983 that the section of music that we all know and love as Poland didn't go by any of the titles we know...the original title was "TAO".

Well it beats train spotting ;)

Interesting...I'm presuming that neither Warsaw In The Sun nor Polish Dance had their proper titles by then either. Would be good to see EF's set list from the Greece show!

Glad you liked the translations,
it's funny 'cos my "everyday English" are very lousy I think
Of course Andy, if you spot in any incorrect or unlogical phrases, don't hesitate to ask for correction.

About 'TAO' now, I guess it was a working title for this long track, during Japan and Athens concerts -I think even it has some musical elements unfluenced from chinese or easter music. (for example some 'exotic' harps during the first rhythmic part)
And I guess they thought about rename it 'Poland' after the warm welcome they had there, during the Polish tour.
Cheers
