Hidden TD tracks

Post by TangFanIRL »

Am I correct in saying that surprsisingly, so far, there have been no 'hidden tracks' on any TD-related releases? When I say hidden tracks I mean either:

1/ a track that can only be accessed by starting the first track of the CD and holding down rewind (as on David Gray's 'White Ladder' CD)

or...

2/ a track that starts up after the last track has long ended after a period of silence (e.g. as on Nirvana's 'Nevermind')

Come on Eddie - sneak in a hidden track sometime on a future release!!!

And for some debate - what hidden tracks would we like to see released?

One for me would be the TD version of 'Back in the USSR' which was a cracking version! Hope it gets released some day.

I'm not aware of any such tracks Conrad. As to what track I'd like to see released in this way, that requires more consideration, Generally speaking though, I'm not a huge fan of cover versions (by TD, or anybody else).

Hi Conrad -

Good question - I'm certainly not aware of anything, apart from the odd mis-pressing, but I reckon this would be a great way of hiding a few otherwise 'awkward to release' tracks... there could be a veritable Aladdin's cave of stuff hidden on a DVD somewhere  :D

Does the instrumental version of Astrophel and Stella at the tail end of the Madcaps Flaming Promo cd count?

I hate hidden tracks as you have to skip forward at the end to access it or sit twiddling your thumbs until it starts. I never understood the reason for them in the first place. I must check out me wifes copy of David Grays White ladder.

It certainly screws things up when you transfer them to the MP3 player...

Yes, I agree. But it works awesome on An American Prayer by The Doors

Blur's Think Tank also have a hidden track before track #1
