BEST TD SOUNDTRACK?

Post by Mars »

What is your favourite Tangerine Dream soundtrack? I will have to say "LEGEND" and "FLASHPOINT". As a single track, i must say that "Rain in the third house" from "Near Dark" is one of the best ever.
What about you?

2. TD - Sorcerer
3. TD - Flashpoint

My fave track is Charley the Kid.

There can be only one : SORCERER

There can be only a second : THIEF

There is a third : Legend

There is the forth elusive vinyl : The Keep

sorcerer wages of fear is not only a soundtrack : it is a classic, pure and simple

only his opinion : of course

Got to be Thief for me,there are some totally superb tracks there and Diamond Diary is completely AWESOME......... :D

Sorcerer is another memorable soundtrack even if the film was not a huge hit.......should have been a twenty minute version of "The Journey".

The Keep has again some completely Awesome music especially "The Challenger's Arrival" and "Supernatural Accomplice"... :D
RIP Edgar. I am going to miss you.

My vote goes to the long forgotten TV Movie Forbidden, the 'love theme' on that is one of the best melodies TD ever wrote

No, sorry mate. I'm just going by the TV broadcast I saw many years ago. It was a TV movie starring Jacqueline Bisset and Jürgen Prochnow. The music itself is quite varied, from quite eerie rhythmic military music (used when the Nazi's used Jewish people to hunt down their own people), to almost (by 1984 standards) acoustic sounding string sections, the love theme I mentioned (with a very Johannes solo) and some very characteristic chords. The movie ends with a kind of Tiergarten part 2 track over a long tracking shot of a ruined Berlin? just after WW2. The movie itself isn't that good (and it's not available on VHS or DVD either....going my IMDB), but the music should be made available one day.

oops I just remembered I have this on CDR, but the sound quality is awful and chances are it's unplayable....I'll have to check.

yes, just playing the soundtrack (it's 'just' playable!)....the love theme sounds a bit like Legend (with breathy chord stabs and a melody that pitch bends into each note). The rest reminds me of Heartbreakers meets the Soldier slightly, with hints of Near dark or the Park is Mine.
