Vintage TD DVD AT LAST!

Post by NAVEL OF LIGHT »

just had news from the lovely folks at CDS in dundee that there is a 6dvd set of 'German rock' music coming out.
The set includes various Tangerine Dream clips dating from Ossiach Live, Ricochet up to Jeanne D'arc.

Other bands include Scorpions, Amon Dull and Kraftwerk.

EXCITING STUFF!

These arent 'bootlegs', its an official release, albeit not on TDI/EASTGATE.

The dvds are around £16 each or £90 for the set.

you're right...but I got the whole lot cheaper than one these discs a couple of years back. Most of it isn't worth watching IMHO, as it's pretty MOR 70's Rock. Certainly not worth £90.

BM has reviewed the DVD track listings and is sure they can put the cream of the crop onto one or two DVDs at the most

here's disk one

AMON DÜÜL II: Kanaan (1969)
AMON DÜÜL II: Soap shop rock(1970)
AMON DÜÜL II: Eye-Shaking King (1970)
GURU GURU: Der LSD-Marsche (1970)
GURU GURU: Electric Junk (1971)
XHOL CARAVAN: All Green (1970)
XHOL CARAVAN: Oszillogram (1970)
XHOL CARAVAN: Talking To My Soul (1969)
AMON DÜÜL II: Kronwinkl 13 (1971)
POPOL VUH: Bettina (1971)
POPOL VUH: Kyrie (1973)
BRÖSELMASCHINE: Light Flight (1971)
BRÖSELMASCHINE: Gedanken (2005)
HÖLDERLIN: Requiem Für Einen Wicht (1971)
KLAUS SCHULZE: For Barry Graves (1976)
CAN: Mother Sky (1970)
CAN: Deadlock (1970)
CAN: Halleluwah (1971)
CAN: Don't Say No (1977)
ORGANISATION: Ruckzuck (1970)
TANGERINE DREAM: Ossiach Lake (1971)

disk is two more of the same

I learnt from many years collecting krautrock, that the dross is true dross and is best left to a extras disk

by the way, BM is a long time fan of big hair and wild unlistenable improvised organ solos

Think it is good news, but I have almost the complete serie on my satellitedecoder harddisk.
It was nice to see, but a lot of talking and not too many TD things. Sorry, but I keep my money in my pocket for a really interesting TD dvd.

I've found clips of most of the TD tracks on YouTube, in case anyone is interested. Some are better than others. Barock 3 is probably the pick of the bunch and interestingly contains the same weird video effect seen on the Old Grey Whistle Test Rubycon single.

They are;
Tangerine Dream - Ricochet 1

Tangerine Dream - Ossiach Lake
