That's a good point. We always have the originals. So long as remix/reworkings are not being passed off as merely remasters, then there shouldn't be a problem. Adding the date to the titles clearly distinguishes them from the originals so that you know it's a re-work. In fact, the re-workings should be decidedly different than the originals. Otherwise, what would be the point?

Regarding re-recording old albums, I'd be much happier if they actually were re-recorded from scratch (like the recent Love On A Real Train seems to be) and not just overdubbed with extra parts, which seems kind of pointless to me. Complete fresh new versions of things like White Eagle and Force Majeure (which I reckon we'll get next year) would be really interesting to listen to, whereas overdubbed versions wouldn't really interested me too much. I suggested to Thorsten after the Edinburgh gig that if they were to continue re-recording albums, then why not Poland, and they could then play the whole thing live! He said it's a good idea, but he'd need to sample a LOT of sounds to re-create many of the parts, especially Moog sounds. We're coming up to the 25th anniversary of that famous concert next month too.
