True, but then again I don't live in London...just up the road, so it's a luxury really eg the Astoria to my door in less than an hour and a quarter.
Getting back on topic, there was still a mystique about the band, and the technology. However the music (which was mostly all new to me) spoke for itself and it said it 'bloody loudly'!

It's a shame that fans have so few photos from this tour though, but theatres seemed to be even hotter with their security then

Well Hamburg 1978 was great and also Nideggen 2002. Two of my fav. concerts.

I heard the weather was not favorable with those Poland concerts, and the band had some serious issues with stage and equipment, etc;

The 1980/81 gigs were an interesting transitional phase, in TDs "techno-history". In those two years one could already see the evolution from modular synthesizers to more streamlined systems and the advent of MIDI which would alter the course of music composition forever.
I shall never forget the 1980 Oxford New Theatre Gig, when I first introduced a good friend to the world of Tangerine Dream. She was totally blown away by the technology on display. As AD 2007 comes into being Tangerine Dream are still the leading exponents of their musical genre and long may they reign!

Cheers Stephen, not sure about a die-hard fan bit , I'm no more of a fan than a person who loves one TD album.

^ the technology and music that TD deliver have alway's been "cutting edge", so it will not surprise me by whatever they choose to convey through that medium, and it just keeps getting better..........."

Never actually been to any, however.

If we're talking purely gigs you've been at, Glasgow Apollo,27th October 1981, Closely followed by The Tempodrome, which, apart from the music, was boosted by the joy of meeting so many guys from here, and sharing a few beers & laughs.

The Glasgow gig was just magic for me, musically, & for seeing JS live with the band for the first time.
