Ok, another band which deserves their own topic.
The latest rumors on this great band are that the last box with the sacd/dvda of the Gabrielperiod is postponed till september. Shame.
Another rumor is that they booked the O2 in London in september. Hope this rumor is true. should be a nice birthday present for my 50 years.

I like all eras of Genesis...I was looking forward to the last box...hope it's not september. last I heard it was out in May....

Used to like Genesis but slowly went off them over the years. I still like a lot of the earlier stuff up until about Then There Were Three and some of the stuff after that is also pretty good but these days it doesn't interest me that much.

I did not buy the Album’s of Invisible touch and We can’t Dance on SACD yet.

Hello, Genesis fans! We know you're waiting for later in the year, when the Live in Rome DVD, and the 1970-1975 Box Set remix reissue are released. As per Nick Davis in the Members Forum, and communication from Tony Smith, Genesis releases for this year are scheduled for May with the Live in Rome DVD, and September for the Box Set. Should anything change, watch for official news here , as soon as the news is confirmed!
In other news, Tony Smith will be joining us for an online chat in the second week of February. Watch the News section of the official site for final notice of when this is going to happen. Tony's really looking forward to talking directly with Genesis fans from around the world during this chat! Watch for details once the official time is announced.

Genesis are superb up to about DUKE and then commercialism drove the band/record company imo. Still bought all the albums though.

LOVE all the albums up to about Duke though!

Hmm, funny that you say this. Nearly all the albums you mentioned are without Gabriel.
Of course they made great albums without, maybe even their best, but the Gabriel period overall is their best period.

aye hans funny that.................thinks its because got into Genesis after Gabriel left, first album would have been Seconds Out or Trick of the Tail I think.
Later worked my way back through the other classics. As I say love them all
Gabriel wins hands down on vocal quality, not to keen on Collins personality and attitude either to be honest.

I am still a fan since Foxtrot, so nearly the beginning. I like Collins, he is funny and his vocals are not too bad, but the gabrielperiod gave us more complicated songs and those are the ones I like more.

Foxtrot is class. Suppers Ready and Can utility and the coastliners? in fact the whole album.
Just looked for my album there, it was on cassette
,
cant find it
and another one to buy then.

Wait till September. Then the commplete Gabrielperiod will be on sacd and dvd-audio.

For the lovers of The Musical Box, the best clone of Genesis there is, they will do a tour in 2008 of the Trick of the Tail tour with usually the same songs as Genesis did on their tours.

Bought this as a three CD "picture disc" set along with Lamb lies Down . Many many hours of listening.

For me the best they ever made. Am dying to hear this one on dvd-audio.
