Generally speaking, I am (was) totally against record execs, artists etc. "re-releasing" stuff as it seems like what it is, an economical decision. However that said, I recently lost all my music, all, 40 years of collecting LP's, CD's. Well, over 6000 original albums and about 2500 CD's including of course anything I could get of TD on vynyl and disc, From the day A clockwork orange was released I was a TD Junky forever. Ok, so after three years of some serious frusteration, ok basically I sat down and cried ny eyes out, I have come to the conclusion re-releases are a good thing
Absolutely nothing can replace original music, one of the good things about technology is that today, I can replace "most" of the loss, Albeit it is not really the same thing and its gona cost. There are those artists that one will replace without question and Tangerine Dream is of course one of them. Now that the shoe is on the other foot, so to speak, I hope everything from about 1955 to 2005 is re-released

I took a mad turn when I was 14 and gave all my Lp's away for a pile of golf clubs & golf balls. Around 100 LP's ...I regreted it from day one and after a couple of years managed to buy all the ones I missed again.

Wow. Some heart-rending stories here...
I have been lucky (so far) and managed to keep my collection more or less intact. Only trouble I have is getting it in the neck constantly for being such a hoarder and taking up so much space

I was forced to get rid of my vinyl collection. We just ran out of space. Actually I wasn't that upset to see it go, it gave me an excuse to buy loads of CDs. I'm now trying to find a decent Hi-Fi system that I can download all my CDs to so I can stick them all under the roof.

Reading some news the other day, I came across an article from Paul Shaffer no less, trumpeting the virtues of vynyl. For years the masses turned their backs on Lp's, now it seems, that because you can make a buck from the collectors and the technology allows you to store them in digital format, everyone is back in love with records. The words "Back-up" were virtually unknown until the mid to late 80's and I kick myself each day for not taking my own advice. I take extra precautions with my media these days I can assure you. Live and learn.
It is indeed interesting that Technology has finnaly caught up with Tangerine Dream, if not influenced by it in some way.
