No Love for Diamond Diary ?

It's surprising to me this has never shown up on any TD "best of" collection. It wasn't even included on Tangents, unless you count Silver Scale, which was a reworking of the track. But every single, double, or multi disc collection always ignores this piece.

To me this is THE essential TD track. Everything they do best is exemplified here in a tremendously dynamic track. Sheer brilliance for me. And it wasn't included in the new Virgin Years set while Beach Theme...accessible but not that moving ... was included.

Granted it is 10 minutes and that eats up a chunk of CD space, but from Dream Sequence on , this wonderful track has never been collected apart from the original soundtrack appearance, while it always goes on every TD playlist I put together.

Thoughts? :D

Sure, great track. I still have it on my Thief vinyl. Puts me right back into the movie.

"Diamond Diary" is fantastic. I was listening to it on headphones the other day. You are not alone in liking this track!

It may not have appeared on compilations, but the band have reworked this piece (in particular the sequencer pattern) several times live and on various releases. For example, "Helicopter Attack" on The Park Is Mine soundtrack CD is based on "Diamond Diary".

True, and also it was the basis for several Sylvester LeVay TV movie scores that shamelessly ripped off that seqeunce :P
