Clear,bright and cold

Very cold this morning, warmed up during the day but gone very cold again now.

We had sleet and snow yesterday but it wasn't cold enough to freeze.

A cold 47F this early morning here in Huntington Beach. But will get up to 76F by late afternoon. The rest of the week (start of 2012) will be in the 80's. Blistering cold for this time of the year.

Very high winds and torrential rain throughout the night and morning,structural damage locally and river burst it's bank a mile down the valley..

Saw the news at lunch time there.

European continent is frozen ............... -45C in Russia

Had coverage from Ukraine, Poland and Germany.............artic.

Wind is from the east here today, unfortunately, and it is cauld, 3.5C.

Been a very mild winter though...............so far.
