"TANGERINE DREAM - SOUNDS FROM ANOTHER WORLD" (Film)

ARTE TV will be broadcasting Margarete Kreuzer's documentary on Tangerine Dream on Friday, 25th Nov 2016, 9:45 pm, for the first time.

This film tells about Edgar Froese's, bandleader of Tangerine Dream and pioneer of electronic music, lifelong search for the ultimate sound. This permanent search leads him and his band to worldwide acknowledgement and success including access to the Hollywood studios of Los Angeles. In January 2015 Edgar Froese dies and bequeaths 48 years of music history. The documentary tells of the highlights of Tangerine Dream through the personal words of the bandleader post mortem taken from his autobiography, by means of interviews with his family, his band colleagues, companioned artists and publishes for the first time personal archive footage.

I was on 16 Nov 2016 the GOETHE INSTITUTE Paris to celebrate the PREMIERE of the documentary "TANGERINE DREAM - SOUNDS FROM ANOTHER WORLD".

It is a very good documentary (3 years of work to make it!!)

Thanks to Thursten, Peter Bauman, Bianca, Margarete Kreuzer and the journalist of ARTE for this wonderful evening. We appreciated so much that Tangerine everybody was available to talk with us.

Concerning the current version of the documentary, I think there will be only one French and German version ( I don't know for the long version that is planned next spring if there will have an English version).

At the end of the screening of the documentary I cried. Tangerine Dream is a very beautiful human and musical adventure.

All the people I met during this screening are outstanding. Peter Baummann and Thorsten signed autographs. Linda Spa was here too and spoke a long time with fans.

New projects are planned for the beginning of next year. We will have more news in the next newsletter.... Stay tuned !!

Of course, there will be an English version, just like there will be an English version of Froese's autobiography.

For the premiere, in Paris, the German version was showed.

Hopefully, when released on DVD it will have English Subtitles, otherwise I will not understand a word of it!!

First minute? I just saw the whole thing in german! They went very thoroughly through the 70s, but only a few minutes about post-1980. Not exactly the right way to do it.

But lots of unique pictures and films there.

A good deal better than anticipated.

Tangerine Dream documentary Sounds from another World.

I had the privilege to attend the premiere of the documentary on November 16 at the Goethe Institute in Paris.
Off course it is not possible at this moment (november 23 2016) to tell detailed about content of the documentary.
It is important that everyone themselves gain a first impression.
The intention was to make a documentary about David Bowie.
As a result, the documentary maker Margarete Kreuzer came in contact with Edgar Froese and decided to make a documentary about Tangerine Dream.
Some known people cooperated.
To name a few, Brian May (Queen), Jean Michel Jarre, David Bowie, even Dali is present.
In my mind it offers a good overview of the influences that Tangerine Dream is set from beginning to what it has become in 2014.
A historical document, part of the history of electronic music.
A longer version, funded through crowdfunding, is expected in spring 2017.

Please don't complain about the documentary.
I was also present at the premiere in Paris on november 16th 2017.

Be glad there is a document like this! Be patient!
To remember Tangerine Dream, Edgar Froese.
I talked in Paris to the producer Margarete Kreuzer about the documentary.
The end goes fast and jumpy concerning the years, she also did agree.
But most important of the documentary is the development of, which influences made Tangerine Dream as they were in 2014.
It is just a little part in history of Electronic Music, but an important one in my opinion.
I also would like a documentary in episodes, 5 or 6 of 1, 1,5hr to have a more complete historical overview of Tangerine Dream.

In spring 2017 the 1,5 hour crowdfunded documentary is planned to be published.
That one will be English subtitled.

On next download link everyone in the world can download and view the documentary as it was broadcasted on ARTE TV, German.
Quality is HD, and total size around 1.8GB

Due to copyright claims of Arte I have to retract the info concerning the downloadlinks, sorry for that.
Also the youtube video is blocked and therefore erased on youtube.

After viewing the documentary, there were some interviews.
Consist of 5 parts, which are not complete, but with several info for the TD fan.
Languages German, translated in French, and some English words.
