Nearly all high ratings for it here, (except for one).

i genuinely feel that suin is the finest recording edgar has produced in at least 10 years....it seems to have an etheral glow around it...in fact it is a classic td record....because i listen to it again and again hearing new pointers to the meaning...awesome music

I feel this album is one in the eye for 1987 brigade. I really do feel it is as excellent as any music TD or Edgar has ever done.

I especially like Navel of Light on SPIN. I do think that SIN is even better.

np: Sungate is a truly amazing track, but my absolute fave track at the moment is Long Island Sunset. 8)

This reminds me what i found out on a recent trip to london.

One for the road: Last drink of a prisoner who was to be executed they were allowed to have one last drink before being transported to the place of execution

On the wagon: That was the comment made as they were transported no more beer

Money for old rope: after a prisoner was hanged the rope was cut up into pieces and sold off as people thought it had mystical properties and contained essence of peoples soul

i also found out out what POM stands for : Prisoner of Millbank as this was the part of london where people were deported to australia.

Her endeth the history lesson

funny you should mention one for the road. But prisoners when they were taken to the Tyburn to be hung were allowed one drink in St Giles...just round the corner from the Astoria. Still doesn't explain why the bar prices are so high though ;)

I’ve been living with Summer in Nagasaki for over a month now and have totally fallen in love with it. I wasn’t expecting too much from this CD since we’d so recently had Spring in Nagasaki and Sleeping Watches, two outstanding slices of Tangerine Dreaminess.

Stand out tracks for me are Climbing Mount Inasa, Ayumi’s Butterflies and 11:02 AM, with 11:02 AM the pick of the bunch. It perfectly captures images of a bustling far-Eastern city waking for the day before there is a rumble of an approaching bomber, a pause ….and then the horror of the A bomb detonating. All perfectly done and not too overdramatic.

It certainly appears that TD have entered a real purple-patch of productivity. I wonder how much of this is due to the reappearance of the enigmatic Christian Gstettner.

….Oh and can we have the cover on a T-shirt please.

11:02AM... I don't know how to describe this.

>> bear with me >>

Does anyone know the name of the film where the US decided to bomb
New York because the US accidentally bombed a Russian city?
(....name that film....I've forgotten....)

The moment the decision was made and and the US president
had a long pregnant pause, there was a background 'quiet-whistle-sound'..
strangely, not dissimilar to the sound
just before Edgar drops the bomb chords on SuIN.

Maybe I'm an old fart that remembers too much.
It's not plagiarism, but probably a common subconscious feeling
that has been played before.... trying to convey the moment
before destruction.

Anyone..?

You got my brain cells going now  Few apocalyptic films fit the criterea loosely but throw these out anyway (probably way off mark though), The Day After (1983), Fail Safe (2000) then there's Miracle Mile (1988)(great soundtrack by someone  ) By Dawns Early Light (1990) any of these?

The movie is Fail Safe and starred Henry Fonda as the president who orders two nuclear bombs dropped on New York City following the accidental nuking of Moscow by an American bomber. It was remade as a live television event on NBC in the U.S. and starred Richard Dreyfuss in the role of the president.

It's an excellent movie (both versions, although I prefer the original) and well worth seeing if you can find it.
