even the cover brings awe!! (if my English are right)
very slow and doesn't know when to end? Nah Zeit is quality...not a favourite of mine by any stretch of the imagination...BUT it's not a recording you can ignore

:) No preference - neither hit my ears these days. I know a lot of people admire this album but I'm afraid it just makes me reach for the razor blades!! Still one album like that out of over 130 is not bad. There are some artists whose whole catalogue make me reach for the blades. :)

It wasn't a negative comment! :D

no, no don't get me wrong, I'm just making a remark about Kubricks films in general (being a film buff :D)

Trouble is, most of you lot are too young to appreciate Zeit.

It's MUCH better once you reach 50  and on the original pink LP's too :D

ouch...time-out! ;) no, seriously (and the BM and myself have discussed this in person) there is something about Zeit that you can never dismiss. I know I joke it's not my cup of tea..and to be fair it's not in my top 10...but there IS something massively outre about the whole recording, really thin and yet so full of depth that it would take a life time to get everything from it (yeah, I know I'm going overboard)...Only music, but dear god what music!

It's a sure classic in the "Music for Sleeping" thread, and that is good thing. I think it is in Neboulous Dawn you even get to hear to a sound similar to snoring.

For me, only side 1 is really what I spend my hard-earned superlatives on. This is really GOOD stuff.

Remember my first listen. I felt disgusted, did I really swap 150 Donald Duck magazines for this... crud?

Glad I did it now... at least TD manages to make ART on an assembly line!

As far as I'm concerned, there is definitely a time and a place for this album. For this reason alone, it'll never be my most frequently played album, but it's definitely one of my favourites.
