TANGRAM
Is the first album when listen from TD. Is my fauvorite album.
Excellent, awesome.......

I remember first hearing Tangram. I hired the LP from our library at teh time I liked it but not a lot. Nowadays I see it for what it is. A masterpiece flawlless and timeless and better than even Rubycon (only joking Colin). It's funny how this one which was Schmoellings first and Underwater Sunlight which was Haslingers first are my faves from the Virgin & Blue years respectively.

Played this non-stop on my bicycle trip to Toronto. It was great motivation on those looooong hill climbs! One of TD's best...

I bought the LP in HMV Bond Street on release, there was a dedicated stand as I remember. Loved the cover.
Took it to a mate's place after work (he had/has a better sound system than me) and its simplicity was very beguiling.
Sorry, not a top favourite, but I respect it deply.

Always had a soft spot for side 1 of Tangram, especially the section they played at Tempodrom last year, it sounded awesome. Side 2 has some weaker moments, but overall it's was a sign of great things to come from the FFS line-up.

Said to be Tangerine Dreams best ever album in a poll on this very website (well when it was .de or .org at any rate).
I originaly heard set 1 on the 'Dream sequence' compilation, better than set 2 but set 1 is a TD classic. lots of great tunes and ideas. I love that tune in the middle:
Da da dah dah de dah..................da da dah dah de da
Da da dah dah de dah.....................da da da da de da
and so on................

Tangram has always topped my list of TD favourites. It's just totally absorbing from beginning to end, with out a dull moment. It's just full of great sequences, mellodies and emotions.

'Tangram' is another 'must' album while travelling thru intercity busses, the piano part and the last part of the side 1, is simply thrilling and deeply emotional in an almost classical music scale (-Gustav Mahler Anyone??? -GM is god by the way)
Is always a sweet problem to choose a favourite album by TD

I often play the whole of Tangram Part 1 from the Tangerine Dream 70-80 boxset,
mastered and processed and pressed by Nimbus Records for maximum fidelity.
and then I play my Tangram LP,
the first release with the artwork on the inner sleeve, for Part 2
n.b. I can remember using Voices in the Net to find out what was on the Tangerine Dream 70-80 boxset.
